Charmaine's Rooftop Lounge

A super fun evening with great music and stunning view of Jim Campbell's Salesforce Tower installation, capped by a brilliant, long fireworks display.

As I was standing and waiting for my friends to close the tab, a young man approached and asked my name, etc. Our unexciting conversation briefly ended when his friends beckoned him to get into the elevator. He quickly asked if I would kiss him on the cheek. To which I responded, "No." He then asked if he could kiss me on my cheek. To which I responded, "No." He seemed surprised.

Afterwards, I remarked to my friends that it felt so good to take care of myself, rather than worry about his feelings and, with unflinching clarity, say "No." I praise myself, for that is growth!

Warriors

Congratulations, congratulations, congratulations, 3 time winners (and counting.) Oh, how I would love to be a part of this high-quality organization, an organization that continues to evolve into greater brilliance, excellence and ultra collaboration. No one vying for stardom at the benefit of another, each mindful of supporting expansion and joy for all.

Network Spinal Analysis

This is the latest wellness methodology I'm engaged in with the intention of activating more spaciousness in my spine, posture and entire body. A month in, I can say the process is challenging with the emotions that surface and must be felt, yet great. I do feel less tension, and am more mindful that a retraining priority is to approach "what is" with more ease, as resistance is a powerful constrictor.

Case in point Instagram post: Yesterday I was sitting in unexpected traffic jam, a definite "block" to movement towards my appointment, and feeling stress about being late. Aware that the stress did not feel good, I asked how I could bring in more ease. Somehow, I then looked up to discover I was in the middle of a canopy of beautiful trees with the sun shining through. Immediately, I felt like I was in heaven, (so it really is a state of being), with a flood of joy and peace. Relaxing into the moment, I had no desire to be anywhere.

Yay Warriors!!

Keep it going! And, Draymond, chill out; 4 technicals already, a slippery slope for sure. Although, of course, I love Stephen, Klay's my favorite, just so solid!

Jumping Poodle

One of the best things Mom did for our shattered family after Dad died was to get a puppy, a female miniature poodle. My three sisters and I fell instantly in love and named her Mitzi.

When I finished this acrylic piece, my immediate thought was of her. She was a vibrant and buoyant force of joy.

"If you let go a little you will have a little happiness. If you let go a lot you will have a lot of happiness. If you let go completely you will be free." —Ajahn Chah

Intellectually, I know this recurring theme. Implementing it, especially when dealing with challenging characters, is the work moment by moment. Ultimately, emotional freedom is what I strive to embody.
