A super fun evening with great music and stunning view of Jim Campbell's Salesforce Tower installation, capped by a brilliant, long fireworks display.
As I was standing and waiting for my friends to close the tab, a young man approached and asked my name, etc. Our unexciting conversation briefly ended when his friends beckoned him to get into the elevator. He quickly asked if I would kiss him on the cheek. To which I responded, "No." He then asked if he could kiss me on my cheek. To which I responded, "No." He seemed surprised.
Afterwards, I remarked to my friends that it felt so good to take care of myself, rather than worry about his feelings and, with unflinching clarity, say "No." I praise myself, for that is growth!
