Help

Today I meet with the Book Doulas. Feeling excited, curious, and a bit nervous, I welcome their professional help - direction and organization to complete and market my creative projects.

Wowza

My son responded to something I sent him with this 1 word. The meaning - wondrous, surprisingly impressive. I felt motivated to paint it.

Swaggering Skiier

When I reflect on the really fun times in my life starting as a teenage, skiing takes center stage. Whether on the slopes in Tahoe, Utah, or Colorado, it’s been a great sport for me. Many times I’d pause at the top of the mountains enjoying the enormous beauty and listening to the sound of silence before I headed downhill.

After completing this work, I immediately thought of a skiier with goggles possibly jumping off a cliff for greater exhilaration.

Movement

Last night I spoke with my former voice teacher of 34 years and now dear friend who recently moved from Berkeley to Seattle. Both living alone, we acknowledged that, of all the days, Sundays aren’t our favorite. The energy seems lower and feelings of isolation can be triggered. She attributes this to less movement overall, and I add perhaps a resting mindset in the ether.

Truth be told, on any day and moment, I can spark an energetic increase, sense of connection, and joy with my paints.

Rotatable Movement On Blue:

Calm The Critic

Another work in the series. Reiteration is defined as “The action of repeating something, typically for emphasis or clarity.” Admittedly, I do fall out of awareness and clarity from time to time so it’s helpful to have the reminders.

Oil Crayons

As a logophile, I’ve created many works with text. And, I have others focusing on color only. With this one, I thoroughly enjoyed the flow of the crayons, and I love the rich colors that are available. Yet another work that can be rotated.
